In our team we use and can recommend the following open source tools:

This website runs on WordPress. Our theme is a child theme of the Twenty Eleven theme. We will publish it here shortly.
We publish all content under a Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Germany License unless otherwise noted.
As a collaboration tool we use OpenAtrium, a Drupal based platform.
For synchronous editing of documents, protocols, etc. we use Etherpad Lite.
